Full-scale fiber adoption can be expensive for many MSOs. Axiom Connectivity’s Digital Return SFP enables businesses to upgrade existing network architectures without sinking costs into full-scale fiber adoption. With digital return technology, businesses can establish HFC networks, which feature a hybrid mix of coaxial and fiber cabling. Instead of establishing a pricey FTTH network, businesses are able to utilize a FTTN setup while retaining coaxial cabling for the last mile connection. Digital return technology is deployed at the network node to facilitate data transfer in the upstream channel. Axiom Connectivity Digital return SFPs can be inserted into digital return modules housed in network nodes, allowing for the conversion of home-based analog signals into digital signals. The technology enables MSOs to minimize costs while simply retrofitting and upgrading legacy architectures to an HFC network.
